The collection takes its name from New Zealand’s native version of Pampas Grass toetoe (pronounced toy toy) with each piece named after our native flora and fauna.
The delicate hand drawn toetoe embroidery is bound together by a piece of number 8 wire, which has come to represent the ingenuity and resourcefulness of New Zealanders. It was used inventively to solve all manner of mechanical and structural crisis, besides its intended use as sheep fencing!
The collections tone on tone or gold embroidery, ruffles and full luscious bows in ivory, black and grey organza, or rich chocolate and black velveteen , have free flowing golden seed beads contained in collars and hems to enhance twirling.
They can be worn together with premium stretch cotton separates in black, ivory, and grey. The fitted leotards give a beautiful silhouette when worn under the sheer pieces.
Ivory and black stripes with tiny gold bell details add a striking option for unlimited combinations. Layer up with blazers, coats, a velveteen cape or a bunny eared rain cape.
Founded in Auckland NZ, Carbon Soldier is well loved at home for it’s subtle palette and quality fabrics. After recently launching into the northern hemisphere it can now be found in 15 countries.
